Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011
Hi everyone,
Chess can also be played by girls! Yes, we have some nice photos sent to us by friend John Foster all the way from South Korea. John is an American teaching elementary school in South Korea. He says, “I am a chess player at not too high a level. But I recognise that young kids can benefit greatly from learning and studying chess so I have been teaching the kids here to play. Many of the girls were reluctant to play because they had been under the impression that chess is a boys’ game. I show all of my students your website and to inspire them and let them know girls can play too!”
Great. Keep up the good work John. The girls will know one day the precious gift of chess they receive now.
