Hello everyone,
The national championship of Slovakia is going to be played from July 9-17, 2011. The event, according to Fide, will be held in Banská Štiavnica like last year. Also, another interesting event, the Štiavnica Bughouse Chess Championship will be held on July 13 and Štiavnica Blitz Championship on for July 14.
GM Lajos Portisch and GM Lubomír Kaválek will play a blindfold game and host simultaneous exhibition on July 16. Lajos Portisch is also an great singer and he will perform on Sunday during the tournament’s closing ceremony. Portisch’s performance will also have Valer Hegedüs playing the piano.
Currently 96 players are signed to play in the Open A tournament.
