David Ionovich Bronstein (Дави́д Ио́нович Бронште́йн) was a Russian grandmaster, who narrowly missed becoming World Chess Champion in 1951. Bronstein was known as a creative, tactical and attacking player. He was also well-known as a chess writer.

Here is a simple puzzle from one of his games against – none other than – Paul Keres.
