National K-12 Championships in Dallas Texas

Hello everybody!

I’m back to Miami. After a very busy fall with many good games and
great results I finally have some time to spend with my family and prepare for the coming holidays.

But before decorating the Christmas tree I will fly for two days to Dallas, Texas to give a simul (at 10 AM on December 11) and meet the kids at the National K-12 Championships that will take place from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13, 2009, in Dallas. I will also do a book signing for my very new book “Diary of a Chess Queen“, which I will get in stock tomorrow, I am so excited about that.

Jennifer Shahade asked me a few questions about my results at the World Blitz Chess Championship for the Chess Life Online (CLO):

American youngsters will again have a chance to meet the Women’s World Champion, GM Alexandra Kosteniuk at
the National K-12 Championships in Dallas, Texas (Dec.11-13). Kosteniuk will be conducting a simultaneous exhibition at 10 AM on Friday, December 11. Registration for a very limited number of open spots will begin at 9 AM on Thursday, December 10 onsite (only) at Chess Control. To psyche readers up for this great opportunity, CLO talked to Kosteniuk about her recent trip to the World Blitz Championship in Moscow, where she defeated players such as Magnus Carlsen, Judit Polgar and Vishy Anand.

The full article can be found here.

So for all of you who are coming to Dallas I will be very happy to see you all there and for those who haven’t decided yet on going to Dallas it’s not too late to register yet.

Now I will run to pick-up my daughter from pre-school and we will go together to skate. I was very happy to find out there is one ice-skating rink in Miami. Will tell you later (on Twitter) how it went 🙂
